My dad writes every match he goes to down in small notebooks, I was looking through them and came across this. He attended the 1989 semi-final at Hillsborough. As you can see, he only writes down ‘95 died’ as 1, Tony Bland, was left in a coma in which he eventually died in 1992. I don’t tend to ask my dad about it as I know he doesn’t like speaking about it but this is why justice needs to be done, not just for the victims and their familys but all others who were affected by the disaster. Like my dad and many others, they have to live with the terrible visions of their fellow fans being crushed to death right before their eyes and not being able to help.
